Royal Caribbean International Again Named ‘Best Cruise Line’ By Travel Weekly Readers – 9th Consecutive Year

Congratulations to Royal Caribbean International for garnering five awards, the most for any supplier, at a 2011 Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards ceremony last night. The cruise line was named Best in Cruise Lines in the Domestic and Caribbean categories, as well as Best in Cruise Lines, Overall – now for every year that the national newspaper of the travel industry has held the competition. Additionally, Travel Weekly readers named Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas – which shares the title of the world’s largest and most innovative cruise ship with sister-ship Oasis of the Seas – in the Best in Cruise Ships, Rookie category. Finally, the cruise line won the Best in Sales & Service category award.

The winners of the ninth annual Travel Weekly Readers’ Choice Awards were honored Thursday at a gala awards dinner in the Plaza Hotel in New York. Winners were selected in 59 categories in the airline, car, hospitality, rail, GDS, agent education, tour, cruise, destination and theme park sectors. The awards are presented to suppliers considered by Travel Weekly readers to have excelled in product and service during the past year.
